Safe Shelter & Rescue
Emergency accommodation, medical care and trauma counselling for women and children fleeing violence, early marriage or trafficking.
SAFENYA AFRICA protects, shelters and empowers women and children across Northern Ghana — through education, advocacy, emergency response and sustainable community programmes.
Where Women and Children Are Safe
Safe shelter, counselling and legal support for survivors of abuse and trafficking.
Scholarships, literacy classes and vocational training that open real doors.
Grassroots advocacy that changes attitudes and builds lasting local safety nets.
Every SAFENYA AFRICA initiative is designed with the women and children of Ghana and Africa in mind — practical, community-led and built to last.
Emergency accommodation, medical care and trauma counselling for women and children fleeing violence, early marriage or trafficking.
School fees, uniforms, books and mentorship for girls at risk of dropping out — keeping them in the classroom and dreaming bigger.
Micro-grants, savings groups and vocational training in tailoring, soap-making and agro-processing so women can earn with dignity.
Mobile clinics, maternal health screening and child nutrition support reaching remote villages across the Northern Region.
Free legal representation, rights education and community sensitisation that holds perpetrators accountable and shifts norms.
Safe spaces, sports and leadership clubs that give boys and girls positive role models and a voice in their own futures.
SAFENYA AFRICA began as a small circle of women in Tamale who refused to stay silent about the abuse and neglect happening around them. What started with one safe room and a shared phone line has grown into a registered NGO serving families across the Northern Region.
We work hand in hand with local chiefs, teachers, health workers and market women. Our team is made up of survivors, social workers and volunteers who understand the culture — and know that real change happens when the whole community is part of the solution.
Today, SAFENYA AFRICA is a trusted first point of contact for women and children in crisis, and a partner for donors and organisations who want their giving to reach the people who need it most.
Real moments from our programmes — the smiles, the classrooms and the communities your support makes possible.

What the women, families and partners we serve say about SAFENYA AFRICA.
When I had nowhere to go with my two children, SAFENYA AFRICA gave us a room, food and someone who listened. Today I run my own tailoring shop.
My daughter was about to be married off at fourteen. The team intervened, spoke to our family and got her back into school. She now wants to be a nurse.
As a donor, I value that SAFENYA AFRICA shows exactly where every cedi goes. The reporting is transparent and the impact on the ground is real.
We welcome ideas, feedback and partnership proposals from the community, donors and fellow organisations.
